I needed to replace the carafe that came with the Capresso coffee maker because the lid fell and chipped. My only complaint is it's very difficult to clean the inside of it. Coincidentally, the lid on this one fell as well and chipped in the same way, so I'm not sure if it's the lid or our floors that are causing this to happen. The carafe is great and keeps coffee hot. The hole up top is too small to fit a hand in and using a bottle brush only scratches the inside. The carafe is coffee stained on the inside (same thing happened with our first one) because of the difficulty in cleaning.
This does a fantastic job of keeping the coffee hot and it's nice to be able to sit it directy on the table.
This is a very nice Carafe, but some words of caution: Don't ever soak it in anything other than soapy water. Our old one became very coffee stained inside so I added a little bleach to the water and it cleaned it beautifully. Unfortunately it ruined the seal and it never kept coffee warm again. That is why we bought a new one.
Very expensive but worth it. Keeps coffee warm for hours, and easy enough to pour into a cup for microwaving while maintaining the original flavor.
